With over one hundred compliance and hazardous waste management audits, thousands of facility inspections and pollution prevention compliance improvement recommendations, MES is poised to assist you.
Accomplishments
- Conducted pollution prevention surveys at over 50 government units; developed pollution prevention-based environmental guides for specific business sectors.
- Performed over 100 environmental compliance audits for private companies, National Park Service facilities, USDA Forest Service forests, ranger districtsand concessioners; developed environmental compliance guides and resource manuals for federal agencies.
- Supported customer proposal teams with technical writers, graphic specialists, proposal volume managers, and requirements analyses, with an emphasis on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers procurements.
- Conceived and implemented pilot projects on technology transfers for Native American reservations and tribally-owned companies.
- Provided environmental compliance training for thousands of people in federal and state agencies, municipalities and private companies.
- Completed two national publications for the Forest Service as tools to help understand regulatory obligations for acquiring, storing, managing, dispensing, and transporting hazardous materials.
- Instrumental in developing the Integrated NPS Environmental Management System (INEMS) for the National Park Service Intermountain Region, a blending of an ISO 14001 framework, with features from the Code of Environmental Management Principles (CEMP) emphasizing pollution prevention as the means of change, and using compliance audits to strengthen awareness and compliance.
- Developed participative strategies for written HazCom plans, SPCC plans, Risk Management Plans, EPCRA reporting, and fleet management plans, emphasizing local facility ownership while ensuring compliant results, and organization-wide consistency.
- Developed a national program for training trainers for OSHA Hazard communication programs Extremely sucessful. trained nearly 100 trainers who have in turn trained hunderds of employees.
- Developed Internet green purchasing program to assist member users to screen products and select from thousands of pre-screened alternatives.
- Developed Internet environmental management system support package including policies, procedures, and computer tools to identify aspects and activities, determine impacts and required training and recoredkeeping, supported with compliance checks, compliance improvement management, and on-line environmental recordkeeping.
