MES Recognitions
Spring 2001 - Awarded a contract for all seven environmental line items by the U.S. General Services Administration (Contract Number GS-10F-0159L).
Spring 2001 - Corporate Environmental Management System received third party certification from National Quality Assurance, USA (Certificate Number EN100012).
August 2001 - Received National Environmental Performance Track from Ms. Christine Todd Whitman, Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, for its "impressive record" of environmental management and performance. Management and Engineering Services was one of only 24 facilities to receive this recognition out of a national pool of applicants from all regions.
Winter 2001 - Joined National Park Hospitality Association to improve environmental support to concessioners at national parks.
Spring 2002 - Received independant certification from National Quality Association, Incorporated, that the MES environmental management system training, materials, and on-line computer tools meet all requirements of ISO 14001.
Spring 2002 - Launched the integration of the first ISO 14001-based environmental management system integration into Grand Canyon National Park management.
MES participates in national organizations to ensure timely awareness of important issues affecting our customers. We maintain a membership in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), were participating members of the ISO 14001 development committee, and the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable, and support employee memberships to professional organizations.
